For few months, accessing gmail using the web browsers on Debian based Linux (Ubuntu, Kubuntu etc..) has been very painful exercise to me. I need to wait for 2 or more minutes and ending up an error message saying that unable to load emails. Then it gives me an option to load basic HTML; but it will be loading all the time but never reaches the basic HTML page. So I tried switching multiple browsers like FF, GC etc.. Still no go…
Solution:
I started using the email client “evolution” and configure gmail which is slower than the web browsers but it never fails to deliver what it has to. Evolution is default email client in most of the Debian based distros; if not you can always apt-get it. If you do not like the antique looks of evolution, you can do the same with thunderbird and others.
Please find the below link which helps to install and configure not only evolution but also other good email clients.

Happy Emailing and take care!
